NURTURE OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY
Successfully fostering a socioeconomically diverse community depends on our ability to provide more financial aid to a greater number of deserving families. Like nearly all independent schools, WIS has an endowment that supplements our annual budget, the principal of which remains intact with WIS spending a percentage of the earnings each year. Presently, the WIS endowment provides only a small percentage of our annual financial aid budget.
By 2026, Destination WIS will double the portion of the endowment designated for financial aid, which represents a 35 percent increase in total endowment.
This is a critical investment to ensure the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives found at WIS today is preserved—and enhanced—in the years to come. Doubling the portion of the endowment designated for financial aid would provide sufficient additional investment income to ensure a meaningful increase in endowment-supported financial aid capacity.
